In this competitive job market, many are heading to their local library for help.

As millions of workers have found themselves displaced or transitioning in their career right now, many are heading to their local library for career services.  The Christian County Library in Missouri decided to do something to help their patrons who are on the job hunt.

They recently partnered with Optimal Resume to provide self-guided, online career software to its patrons.  The software allows job seeking patrons to create professional resumes, cover letters, search online job postings, and conduct an interactive mock interview from one secure online portal.  The program can be accessed in one of the branch locations, or through a home internet connection.

One team member at the library had this to say about Optimal Resume in a recent article in the Christian County Headliner News.  Click here to view the entire news story.

“This goes far beyond simple resume templates,” said Rhonda Riley, head of technology at the library. “There are sample resumes for dozens of career fields and positions, lists of power words to spark ideas, the ability to easily create your own website and even options for staging mock interviews with your webcam. Our staff was blown away by the possibilities.”

Optimal Resume’s online career software can be found at over 60 libraries nationwide.  Click here to learn more about Optimal Resume, and how it can help job seekers at your local library.
